About carlos "einstein" and the hostel
The Carlos "Einstein" Hostel is led by the
legendary Carlos
Aguilera Venegas. Born in 1936, Carlos has worked in over
seventy positions during his seventy years of life, in nearly every
field of the arts. Photojournalist, ballet dancer, writer and
director
of plays and films, carpenter, chef, massage expert, cultural
anthropologist, shaman, and hostel manager, Carlos has lived it all.
Carlos opened the hostel in 1999, and has housed tens of
thousands of backpackers in his wild lodgings. The hostel has
changed location and returned to its original home in the course of its
existence, and it now continues to become brighter and more vibrant
every day in its birthplace.
The hostel is one of the main cultural and entertainment
centers in the beach town of Mazunte. Mazunte is a tranquil paradise,
recognized since the pre-Columbian era as a site of powerful cleansing
energy, unique for a number of magical reasons.
A message from carlos
Welcome to the Carlos
"Einstein" Hostel,
where you will be received by a crazy shaman, calling to you in 28
different languages: "Mi casa es tu casa!"
Mazunte is a paradise for the following reasons:
1. From here you can see the sunrise and sunset, rising from
the sea in
the morning, and sinking back into the sea in the evening.
2. Punta Cometa, which is the point of the peninsula of
Mazunte, is the
first peninsula of North America, from which you will see the beach of
Escobilla, which is the sanctuary of the golfina turtles. In
this
beach,
ten days after the full moon each month, more than 365,000 sea turtles
arrive on the beach in three nights to bury their eggs. This
beach can be found ten kilometers away from Mazunte. You can
only
observe this phenomenon of the golfina turtles in four locations in the
world: in Costa Rica, Australia, India, and here in Oaxaca.
3. Mazunte, because it is the first peninsula of North
America, is a
place with a powerful energy. When you are here, you will
feel
it, and ten minutes after arriving in Mazunte you will feel at home.
Mazunte is a sickness, because it will cost you extraordinary
effort to leave this place. Normally, those who visit Mazunte
each year return, Mexicans and foreigners alike.
4. Mazunte continues to be a rustic town, very undeveloped,
ideal for
european tourists. We lack sufficient water and tourist
infrustructure, and our attention to tourism isn't great, but for
backpackers, it is an ideal location. Very affordable, and
with
many friends.
All of this makes Mazunte a paradise, where we await you with
open
arms.
