Frequently Asked Questions

What is the School of Spanish and Traditional Liberation? The School of Spanish and Traditional Liberation is a space where in just a short time you can learn the most indispensable grammar and vocabulary in order to communicate in Spanish, and experience an intergalactic journey. It is the most simple form of getting to know yourself and freeing yourself; by means of conversation and ceremonies in the sacred sanctuaries that you will see, you will liberate yourself from your traumas, complications, anguish, fears, or excesses that make your life uncomfortable, burdened with prejudices and too many responsibilities which cause you to lose your youthfulness and optimism.

Why are they called “Intergalactic Journeys?”They are journeys you will make with us, which receive this name because they are really special, and would be very difficult for you to be able to understand on your own or with your friends in such a short amount of time. In this journey, you will see the truth of these experiences, without charlatans who disgrace the traditions and customs of Mexico.

Why are there conversation classes?By means of the conversations, you will have an idea of the culture, the legends, and the traditions of Mexico.

What is a “sacred sanctuary?”A sanctuary is a place dedicated to meditation and prayer. It is a place that is very special, magical and paradisiacal, for its legends, its uniqueness, and the traditions or customs that occur in that place. It is a space chosen for good vibrations, spiritual encounter, and liberation from or cure of the ills produced by society, the systems and their taboos, the subconscious and its complexities, insecurities, pride, traumas, stress, excesses, etc.

What are the ceremonies?A ceremony is a ritual with religious characteristics or a gathering of people who participate in a very serious and formal event in which they live out certain experiences or celebrate a very respected act.  Individuals or groups of participants with the necessary respect will learn something very special and beneficial for them.

Who are curanderos?Curanderos are indigenous therapists that attend to patients or the sick in order to perform a procedure of cleansing or an exorcism of the sickness or physical, mental, or spiritual curse that they have. Curanderos are also called witches, sorcerors, herbalists, shamans, magicians, helpers, or priests.

Who are indigenous peoples?Indigenous peoples are the original people native to a country, who live in rural and rustic areas, in small towns in the mountains, prairies, jungles, or desert. They don’t live in the capitals or big cities; they are the aboriginals that generally live in a rustic and traditionalist manner, and in general are people with very little economic resources, and with very old social customs.

Who are the Zapotecs and Huichols? In Mexico, there are 65 areas of different indigenous peoples, who speak more than 100 different languages. Each area has different folkloric clothing. Their houses are very different in the mountain, the coast, the prairies, and in the desert. The only thing that they have in common is the natural medicine, “la hierbolaria.” The Zapotecs are indigenous people who live in Oaxaca, in which there are seven regions, each with different indigenous areas. The Huichols are indigenous people who live in the north of the country, in the desert areas. All of the indigenous peoples are very protective of their traditions and they don’t appreciate tourists because they don’t respect the foods of the Gods. Tourists use these plants to get high, not as medicinal plants.

What is a temascal? The Huichol ceremony happens inside a temascal, which is a small room in which rocks heated by fire are placed. When the rocks are very hot, water is thrown on them with some medicinal plants in order to produce vapor with an aroma. This is used as a curative remedy.
